The Librarian's Role In The Provision Of Consumer Health Information And Patient Education

This MLA Policy Statement was developed by a Task Force of CAPHIS, chaired by Alan Rees. The task force members were: Joanne Marshall, Margaret Bandy, Kathy Lindner, Lisa McCormick, and Janet Schneider. The statement was approved by the MLA Board of Directors in February, 1996.


Consumer Health Manual

This excellent resource was produced by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine. It is terrific! Chapters include topics such as: Planning a Consumer Health Library, Health Videos, Databases and CD ROM's for Consumers, Ethics and the Consumer Health Librarian, Health Literacy, Readability Analysis of Consumer Health Materials, Consumer Health Materials in Spanish, Consumer Health for Kids and Health Information in Many Languages.
